Joy Bridy

Joy Bridy is an effervescent clay artist living in the Eastern Market area of Washington, DC. She has traveled from Seattle to Maine to work with clay, and is currently found at the Lee Arts Center in Arlington, VA, the Eastern Market Pottery in DC, and various wood kilns from Maryland to Pennsylvania.

With a BA in Studio Art from Indiana University, IN, as a springboard, she has added depth to her education with a sauntering, inquisitive spirit. Upon moving to Pennsylvania, Joy sought out clay, stumbled into Jack Troy, and the rest is history. She was Jack's studio tech at Juniata College for 3 years, has spent time at Haystack as a Technical Assistant, a month on a Rotary sponsored cultural exchange in South Korea, and a summer residency at Pottery Northwest , Seattle. She's a blood hound for opportunity, loves new experiences, seeks out atmospheric firings wherever and whenever possible, and is amazed to find herself firing a suburban smokeless bourry box wood kiln just off the metro in Maryland.
